  1. Michael Chirichello Says:

The role of coach and evaluator is an oxymoron. Coaches don’t evaluate and that is the challenge of assuming the role of both. Knowing which hat to put on when is the challenge that is built on trusting relations using a differentiated approach to teacher evaluation. The strategy to be coach and evaluator depends on crafting essential questions. The conversation (rather than conference) between the teacher and principal becomes a critical component of the dual role process. This podcast gives good insights to this process.
